Two men charged in connection with Dublin assault

Gardaí (Irish police) investigating an alleged serious assault on a man in the Temple Bar area of Dublin have charged two men.

The alleged attack happened in Cope Street at about 00:30 local time on Wednesday.

The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, are due to appear in court on Monday.

The victim remains in a critical condition in hospital.

He was identified following a public appeal by police.
