Who will be Iran's next supreme leader?

A state funeral for Iran's former supreme leader, set to begin on Wednesday, has been postponed as questions loom over who may take up the post next.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed during the first wave of US-Israel attacks on the country on Saturday.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has since said that any successor that continues "the plan to destroy Israel, to threaten the United States" and "suppress the Iranian people" will be an "an unequivocal target for elimination".

The BBC's chief international correspondent Lyse Doucet explores who that next leader may be - and how the ongoing attacks could impact this process.
