Man charged over death on village street

A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of another man in a South Lanarkshire village.

Adam Lawson, 39, was found dead on Hope Road, Kirkmuirhill, near Lanark, at about 03:30 on Sunday.

His family has been informed and police said inquiries were ongoing.

The 40-year-old man is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court later.
