A year after planning permission was granted to rebuild a lorry-damaged pub, work is still yet to start.

Black Country Ales, the owner of The Three Fishes in Bayston Hill, Shropshire, said it was still waiting to reach an agreement with its insurers.

The pub on the A49 has been boarded up since a lorry crashed into it in November 2024.

The Chinese takeaway next door, which was also damaged, has since reopened.

Black Country Ales, which agreed to buy the pub just before the crash, gained planning permission for repairs in March 2025.

It plans to reinstate the left side of the building, create a a larger bar and cellar, plus accommodation on the first floor and a smoking shelter.

But Graham Manwaring, managing director at Black Country Ales, said: "We are still going back and forth with no acceptable solution."
