Two new Chief Pleas conseillers have been announced in Sark after a by-election.

Chief Pleas confirmed Joe Perree and Michael Lanyon will be joining the island's government.

Voters cast their ballots in the Toplis Room at Island Hall between 10:00 GMT and 18:00 GMT, with a turnout of 56% recorded.

Paul Armorgie, the speaker of Chief Pleas, said: "It shows the health and vibrancy of our small island democracy. I thank the candidates for putting themselves forward to serve and represent their community."

Nominations for candidates closed at midday on 13 February and followed the resignation of two conseillers.

The four candidates were Antony Dunks, Michael Lanyon, Sebastien Moerman and Joseph Perrēe.
