Hull's setup is causing Ipswich to take longer in their build-up. It is causing frustration for the fans and certainly working in our favour at the moment.

So close to the opener! It's a wonderful turn by Jack Taylor on the edge of the box for Ipswich and he fires narrowly wide of the far post.

A first real sight of the Ipswich goal for Hull as Lewis Koumas is slipped into the right channel by Joe Gelhardt but he cannot divert it goalwards and the Ipswich defence are able to usher it out for a goal-kick.

A reminder that Ipswich won 2-0 in the reverse fixture at the MKM Stadium in November. What the Tractor Boys would give for a repeat tonight to move within three points of Middlesbrough in second with a game in hand.

Hull, of course, have the chance to move within three points of Boro as well.

A couple of corners in quick succession for Ipswich but both are dealt with by Hull.

Town will come again though...

Ipswich are seeing plenty of the ball in the opening 15 minutes. They've had 72% possession and are looking to move it about in the Hull half. But as yet, not a lot to show for it.

It is a very end-to-end game at the moment. Hull are very structured in possession, but do look good on the break.

Hull deal with the Ipswich corner. It's sent back in and drops for Marcelino Nunez about 25 yards out but his first time effort flies into row Z.

Hull launch a quick breakaway with Liverpool loanee Lewis Koumas and it looks promising but the pass from Koumas is poor and Dara O'Shea intercepts.

Ipswich go up the other end and we have our first shot of the night as Sindre Walle Egeli's effort is deflected behind for a corner.

Ipswich are probing on the edge of the Hull area and trying to work an opening.

So far, the visitors are standing firm. Plenty of patience needed for the hosts.

Even though Wembley is potentially just 90 minutes away, Doncaster boss Grant McCann has made nine changes to his starting line-up, although Saturday's 4-0 thumping by Cardiff may be fresh in his mind.

Zander Clark comes in between the sticks while there are starts for Billy Sharp and George Broadbent.

Jay McGrath and Glenn Middleton are the only players to retain their places from the weekend.

Stockport are without a league game this weekend so make just three changes from the side beaten at Stevenage on Saturday.

Lewis Bate skippers the side with Joseph Olowu and Ben Osborn also included.

Tayo Edun and Odin Bailey are among the substitutes while Josh Dacres-Cogley misses out having already featured for Bolton earlier in the competition.

A big night for Ipswich defender Jacob Greaves this evening.

Greaves was a Hull academy graduate who made 177 appearances for the Tigers before joining Ipswich in 2024.
