In-form David McGoldrick netted a hat-trick to help Barnsley to victory at Leyton Orient in League One.

The 38-year-old opened the scoring early on and, after Dylan Levitt levelled, bagged a second-half brace to take his tally to 10 goals in nine games.

Having lost at Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield last week, Barnsley made a positive start and took the lead inside 10 minutes when McGoldrick fired a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.

Orient got their act together and recovered quickly, Levitt equalising with a free-kick from outside the box after 20 minutes.

In the second half, Barnsley started brightly again and McGoldrick notched his second of the game when pouncing from a corner after 53 minutes.

Things got better for the Tykes nine minutes later as they increased their lead when McGoldrick completed his hat-trick with a left-footed shot to keep Orient in relegation trouble.
