    Sunderland

Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka speaking to TNT Sports: "We spoke at the beginning of the season, our target was 40 points. We achieved 40 points and now we want more because the hunger is big."

On if they can push on now the 40 points are secured: "We need to stay humble. We know where we come from. Our target was 40 points. When you achieve the first one, you want more. The hunger is here. We are taking it game by game, let's see where we get."

If Liverpool want a better result on Friday, there's going to have to be a few harsh words said in the changing room.

The tempo has to be upped from the off and it can't be reactionary to what goes on and then suddenly decide to step up the gears. It has to be from the off, they're the better team and they have the better players. But it feels so lethargic.

If they up the tempo, they're difficult to play against. I'm not sure about the situation of Florain Wirtz but they need him back.

Slot has taken all the joy out of watching Liverpool.

    Colin

As per usual, Liverpool struggle against the bottom teams. If you can't beat clubs at the bottom you won't get into the champions league. Going backwards with Slot.

    Dave

That’s it, Slot has to go, how can any team lose to this Wolves side? He’s let standards slip, he’s let world-class players become a ghost of themselves… just let the man go and put him out of his clear misery.

Wolves goalscorer Rodrigo Gomes to TNT Sports: "Amazing. Amazing game, amazing night. Winning two games in a row, under the lights, in front of our fans. Unbelievable. I am unbelievably happy.

"Maybe a little late, but we need to keep going and keep this momentum. We are playing good. We are doing unbelievable things. We need to keep going and believing in ourselves. We need to give everything until the last minute and win games."

On his goal: "It was a special moment, I am very happy. A big game. It was a good finish, it was difficult because I had Konate on my back. Unfortunately I have had groin injuries but now I am feeling sharp."

On fellow goalscorer Andre: "He's such a good player. He's played so good today. He's an unbelievable player and deserved this goal."

On playing Liverpool again on Friday: "We need to do this again. Believe in us and try to win this game."

  5. 'Wolves playing for each other and the fans'published at 22:28 GMT 3 March

    FT: Wolves 2-1 Liverpool

    Ally McCoist
Former Rangers striker on TNT Sports

It's quite remarkable, it really is.

You look around this place and they have had a really, really tough season but they are playing for each other and they are playing for the fans.

Look what Wolves did to Arsenal. Certainly in the last few weeks, Molineux has been a difficult place to come.

They defended exceptionally well and when they got their chance, they took it.

    A great night for them.

  7. Postpublished at 22:25 GMT 3 March

    FT: Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford manager Keith Andrews to BBC Match of the Day: "Both teams tried their upmost to win the game, I don't think either teams were settling for a 0-0, right up until the end both teams had chances.

"We couldn't quite find our best work with the ball, but without the ball tonight I thought we were excellent, a good reaction. To come here and get a clean sheet was really pleasing.

"I don't think luck ever hinders. I thought there was a resilience from the group and the way we went about it. We controlled parts of the game. But the woodwork is there for a reason. Did it help? Yeah, probably."

On Bournemouth's penalty shout: "I haven't watched it back. I'm not one to study clips afterwards to come out and give a really informed opinion because ultimately it doesn't really matter. The game's gone. I didn't think it was at the time. I'll look at it back but I didn't think it was live.

"The priority was to get back to basics. That was a real priority coming into this game. If you do all those things and do that well you've got a real chance of a clean sheet. I think we did that tonight."

On players from both teams squaring up after full-time: "Not really sure. I definitely didn't start it. I think the game was played with a really competitive edge tonight. It probably spilt over a little bit at the end."

  8. 'Everton were clear winners'published at 22:23 GMT 3 March

    FT: Everton 2-0 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley boss Scott Parker, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We fell short tonight. We fell short in many ways really and many things going through my mind. We lacked quality with the ball. We couldn't impose ourselves. We weren't a threat playing against a very good side. We fell short in many, many factors. There's not one thing I could say, there weren't any fine margins. There was a clear winner and it was Everton.

"At the weekend, what happened to us I tried to freshen things up and it didn't have the effect that I'd have liked, so we'll have to look at that and work that out.

"What we've not managed to do this year is get some good momentum after good results or good performances. For some reason we've not been able to back it up and the consistency has been way short now. The level at times and the quality we've faced has been testing for us and it's been clear there's been a gulf in that."

You have to give it to Rob Edwards. His team was under pressure for the first 10-15 minutes on the second half and he made the changes. Liverpool responded after going a goal down but Wolves kept believing and they got their just rewards.

    Liverpool disappointing on the night.

  11. Postpublished at 22:17 GMT 3 March

    FT: Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford midfielder Jordan Henderson to TNT Sports: "I thought it was a good game. Maybe both will be disappointed they didn't win the game. Overall we felt comfortable but they had decent chances, they hit the post and had a goal disallowed. I still felt we had our moments. So maybe a draw was a fair result in the end."

On looking frustrated about being substitute: "Did I? That's normal.

"We've learnt from mistakes in the first half of the season. We're in a pretty good place at the moment. We just need to keep improving.

"For us it's about staying humble and doing all the things we've done this season which is working hard for each other. But also just playing with the confidence and freedom to try and win games."

It was a mistake from Curtis Jones - he plays a ball into Alisson and Alisson's never going to get any purchase on it.

Andre looked heavy in the last five or so minutes but he takes a shot and it takes a wicked deflection to loop over Alisson.
